Cherokee Cemetery (Tyler Foote Cemetery)

A quaint cemetery with gravestones, a wrought iron fence, surrounded by trees; flowers adorn some graves.

Also known as the Tyler Foote Cemetery, it is located on the site of the historic former gold mining community of Cherokee, named for Cherokee Indians who began mining there in 1850. The Cemetery contains over 100 known burials, the earliest occurring in 1852. Very lovely and well maintained.
